An application for a place on the Master’s Degree in International Business (MIB) at the HTW Berlin is an investment in your professional future. We are looking forward to meeting you!
Admission requirements
- Academic degree
We require a degree in the field of international business, economics or business administration (BA, MA, a German "Diplom" from a university, university of applied sciences or equivalent) with a total of 210 ECTS-Points, (equivalent to three and a half years of study). If your degree programme took only three years to complete, professional experience or training subsequent to graduation is considered as equivalent to one semester.
Applicants with a degree from foreign countries other than Europe: the degree must be equivalent to a 3 year German Bachelor’s Degree. The eligibility of your first academic degree will be verified only upon receipt of a valid and complete application within the following application period:
Summer term (starting on 1 April): 20 November - 15 January (cut-off period!!)
Applicants can also check the equivalence of foreign degrees by referring to the database of the Central Federal Agency for Foreign Education in Germany (page only available in German). Moreover, such applicants must have completed at least one year of professional employment or training since graduating. In such a case, we require the student to submit proof of professional experience. If your degree is judged to be equivalent to a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree, professional experience or training is not an admission requirement. - Modules completed
We also require you to have completed three of the four following modules during your first degree:- Corporate/Business Finance
- Financial Accounting
- Business Mathematics/Statistics
- Economics
- Proof of proficiency in the English language
Your command of English has to be proven by:- TOEFL minimum score 580 paper-based, 237 computer-based, 96 internet-based
- IELTS 6.0
- TOEIC minimum 800 points
- CPE all levels
- CAE all levels
- BEC, Higher all levels
- Proof of study for the minimum of a year at an English-speaking university or 60 ECTS

We advise you to obtain this certificate as early as possible as the issuing process can take some time.
Application documents
Holders of a German university entrance qualification should use the HTW Berlin online application system. Applicants with a university entrance qualification from another country should apply via Uni-assist.
Please note that online applications will only be accepted between 20 November and 15 January. Late applications will only be considered if places remain open.
Applications should include the following documents:

- Officially certified copies of your university degree(s) and grade transcripts
- Proof of your command of English
- Proof of professional experience
- A tabular overview of academic education to date, and of professional occupation
- A letter of motivation
- Two academic references / recommendations
- A copy of your passport or identity card
- APS for applicants from China, Vietnam and Mongolia
