Double Degree Agreement between University of Gdansk and HTW Berlin
The double degree programme is based on the “Agreement for Academic Cooperation”, which has been signed by the authorities of University of Gdansk (GDA), Poland, and the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (HTW) in 2010. The main objective of this agreement is to launch a double degree programme “International Business” on Master’s level, which allows HTW and GDA students participating in the programme to receive a degree from both universities. The programme is conducted completely in English and guided by the respective faculties and programme directors at GDA and HTW.
The maximum amount of students who can be selected for this programme is limited to five persons per year from each academic institution. The selection of candidates will be based on their interest in the other country’s culture and on their academic records.
For double degree students, the duration of studies at the academic partner institution shall last two semesters (exchange period). The exchange period takes place in the second year of studies. The first year of studies at GDA or HTW is completely acknowledged by each partner institution.
Students from HTW have to be matriculated into the programme “Master of International Business” and have to apply for the double degree programme till the 15th of June (their first semester of studies).
Students from HTW selected for the double degree programme agree on extending their total study period by one semester. They finish their first two semesters in Berlin (60 ECTS) and complete their studies at GDA during the third and the fourth semester.
Students from HTW who have achieved 210 ECTS at the end of their Bachelor’s studies are required to attain at least 45 ECTS during their exchange period (third and fourth semesters for HTW students). This will result in a total of 315 ECTS at the end of their Master’s studies. HTW students who have only achieved 180 ECTS at the end of their Bachelor’s studies are required to attain at least 60 ECTS during their exchange period at GDA. These students will achieve a total of 300 ECTS at the end of their Master’s studies.
During their third semester students from HTW choose special courses offered at GDA. They are required to write their Master’s thesis (30 ECTS) during the fourth semester at the partner institution.
