Is there a limit on the number of students admitted each year?

The capacity of the programme is limited to 40 students. We seek to maintain small class sizes so as to ensure excellence in teaching.

How should I send my reference letters?

References should be composed on official university paper and be sent in a sealed envelope together with the other application documents to the HTW (Office of Admissions and Enrolment).
Further information concerning the application procedure can be found here.

Does the HTW have a TOEFL institution code?

Yes, we do. Our TOEFL institution code is 8405.

I do not have a TOEFL certificate. Do you accept any other proof of English language ability?

Yes. In addition to a TOEFL certificate (580 paper-/237 computer-/96 internet-based minimum), we accept the IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 6.0.

Do I have to take the GMAT?

We would be very interested to receive a copy of your GMAT results but they do not represent an admission requirement.

Will I have to sit an interview?

As a rule, no. In certain cases however, the admissions committee reserves the right to request an interview.

Is it an advantage to apply early?

We would prefer to receive all applications early, but this does not influence your chances of admission in any way.

Do I have to have any professional experience?

Professional experience is not an admission requirement. However, those students gaining only 180 credit points at the end of their Bachelor’s Degree can make up for 30 of these points by providing proof of six months of professional experience after their first degree.

What are my future job prospects with a MIB?

Our graduates now occupy a number of middle management positions in various areas within large multinational companies. Once you join the programme, you will be a part of the MIB network and will profit from alumni connections.

Is the programme certified?

The MIB programme is accredited by the FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation).

Does the MIB have partner programmes abroad?

At the moment, the MIB Programme is developing a double degree programme in co-operation with the University of Danzig (Poland). The HTW has about 100 partner universities word-wide.

How international is the faculty?

The faculty is staffed evenly by Germans and international staff. The majority of faculty members have international experience in academia and in industry.

Is the programme taught entirely in English?

Yes.

Does the MIB stipulate the completion of a work placement?

A work placement is not a compulsory requirement of the MIB programme. However, if you wish to acquire voluntary work-experience in the semester vacations, the HTW will endeavour to provide advice and support to this end. Responsibility for finding a placement rests with the student.
