International Business - Master

The Master’s Degree in International Business was the first English-language degree course established at the HTW Berlin. Designed by an international faculty with experience in the business world, prospective students can expect a well-defined programme of study in an environment characterized by its international nature. Designed for students with a background in business or economics, the Master’s Degree prepares it participants for a career in multinational companies. The goal is to provide students with the business and intercultural skills, training and knowledge to equip them for a career in the various fields of international business.

Academic knowledge plus practical skills

The Department of Economics I (Business Administration) at the HTW (itself the largest University of Applied Sciences in Berlin) offers an 18-month full-time Masters Degree in International Business (MIB). The MIB, taught entirely in English, prepares its students for a career in a fast-changing multinational environment. The programme provides a critical understanding of contemporary concepts in business and economics. Supplementing this theoretical approach is a clear focus on the practical issues of international management: our graduates are not only able to walk into a number of real jobs, but acquire the intercultural skills which such posts demand.

Prepared for business – worldwide

The programme is directed at students with a background in business or economics. The objective of the course is to help students supplement or extend their professional and academic knowledge in the field of international business.

The programme has the following goals:

  1. To prepare the students for a range of challenging positions in various areas of international management or research. All training has been developed with a focus on the demands of globalization and European integration.
  2. In addition to several courses related to international business, the course also includes a number of extracurricular activities. Students of the course also receive training in the methodologies demanded by problem-solving in an international context.
  3. To promote the understanding of and between different cultures and to refine the skills required for successful intercultural communication.
